Arlene R. Knudsen, nee Richards, age 88, devoted daughter of the late Lloyd and Blenda Richards. Loving sister of Barbara (late Chester) Placek and the late Bill Richards (Donna (Ken Schubert).

Very proud auntie of Charlene (Paul) Peterson, late Susan (Ron) Fjeldheim, Steven (Debbie) Placek, Michael (Debi) Placek; Scott (Kelly) Richards and Jill (Dave) Rafter. Dearest great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many. She will also be missed by numerous cousins and friends. 

Arlene retired from Grand Trunk/Canadian National Railway after many dedicated years of service.

A devoted “Auntie Lene” to all her nieces and nephews—and to their friends—she never missed a sporting event, recital, or birthday party. Her love for family was boundless, and she delighted in traveling with them, creating memories.

Her infectious smile, warm laugh, and bright twinkle in her eye could light up any room. Auntie Lene will be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering support, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. She lit up our lives and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Visitation Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park, IL 60477 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment private.
