Annette Busse

January 19, 1925 — August 8, 2022

Annette Busse, nee Bos, of Palos Park, IL went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 8, 2022 after a short illness. Annette was born on January 19, 1925 to Richard and Anna Bos of Mt. Greenwood, IL. She was the second of three children.

Annette grew up in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago and graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1943. She enjoyed a career as a secretary and administrative assistant at Federal Reserve Bank, Ford City Engine Plant and The Atomic Energy Commission.

In October of 1955 Annette married Walker "Wally" Busse of Evergreen Park, IL, a widower with two small children. Together they raised three more children, creating a busy, loving household of five kids. Devoting most of her time to being wife and mom, she did enjoy a rewarding part time position as a librarian at Oak Lawn High School.

Annette was a woman of deep faith and the family worshiped and served at Mt. Greenwood Reformed Church and Calvary Reformed Church of Orland Park.

Once they were empty nesters, Annette and Wally traveled extensively across America and to Europe, Australia, the South Seas Islands and Alaska. Winters found them enjoying the sunshine in Bradenton, Florida. The last 12 years Annette and Wally were active residents of Peace Village, a retirement community in Palos Park, IL. After Wally's passing in February of 2020, Annette moved to the assisted living facility at Peace Village where she enjoyed her last two years and was loved by staff and residents alike.

Annette is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Walker "Wally" Busse and two siblings--John Bos of Chicago and Elinor Swaagman of Orland Park, IL. She is survived by her five children--Pamela (Clarence) Neander of Cornell, IL, Linda (Gregg) Wickstra of Sante Fe, NM, Beth Ann (Larry) Hammelman of O'Fallon, MO, Mark (Cynthia) Busse of Crestwood, IL and Scott (Jill) Busse of Orland Park, IL. Annette has 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
