Andrew Boersma, 68, of Calabash, NC , formerly of Oak Forest, IL died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at his home. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was born in Chicago to the late Garrett and Clara (nee Voss) Boersma. Beloved husband of 47 years to Carol (nee Buikema); loving father of Michelle (Michael) Kovar, Andrew Todd (Jayne) Boersma and Lisa (Scott) Cavanaugh. Cherished grandfather of Wyatt, Jacob & Joshua; Caitlin, Katherine & Jessica; Kelsie, Isaac, & Austin. Dearest great-grandfather of Mikayla. Dear brother of Theresa (Tom) Kamphuis of Oak Lawn, Garrett (Laura) Boersma of Kalamazoo, MI, Claire Lynn (Brian) Fondren of Alsip and the late Clarence (Bonnie) Boersma. Fond uncle of many. A Committal Service with Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. A Memorial Service to celebrate Andrew's life will follow at 11:00 a.m. Orland Park Christian Reformed Church 7500 W. Sycamore Dr. Orland Park, Illinois.
