Abraham Sungman Chung

Abraham Sungman Chung, age 80, beloved husband of the late Sarah Youngsook Chung, nee Kim. Loving father of David (Rhonda) Chung and Sarah Chung. Cherished grandfather of Kaitlyn Chung.

Abraham was born in Gwangju, South Korea, the eldest son among two brothers and two sisters. He was a 1969 graduate of Chosun University, Pharmacy School in South Korea. Abraham served in the South Korean military from 1969 to 1972. He moved to the United States in 1977. At the age of 36, Abraham became a church elder. In 1982, he received a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Abraham then began working in the pharmacy at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL and retired in 2021. He was a member and elder at Center Church of Truth of Chicago in Tinley Park, IL.

Visitation Monday, December 1, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. An additional Visitation at Colonial Chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. with a procession to follow to Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery, Monee, IL for a graveside service at 10:00 a.m.
