There are no words that can truly describe what an amazing father you were to us. There was nothing you wouldn’t do for our entire family. You were just so selfless and giving and just wanted to please everyone. The word no was never in your vocabulary. I have so many wonderful memories of you as a father and as a grandfather.
You used to come to the door every Christmas Eve dressed as Santa and bearing gifts and I could never decide who had more joy in their or your grandchildren. You were so worried that they would realize it was you, that you would cover your entire face with your wig and beard to the point of not being able to see.
I will also never forget when I was heartbroken over my first love and I was crying and you put your arm around me and told me I was going to be OK. You always made me feel so safe and loved.
When I was diagnosed with cancer you were at our house every morning at 7 am to get the kids fed and off to school. You drove them wherever they needed to go. You took me to doctors appointments and tests and tried to remain calm for me, but I know inside it was tearing you apart to see me suffer like that. I feel like it affected you so much that your health started to decline after that.
Six years later and now it was my turn to be torn apart because you were suffering so much.
But now I feel grateful to have had you for as long as I did, I’m grateful that you are no longer suffering, I’m grateful that you rallied that day and we got to listen to music together and I fed you ice cream, I’m grateful that you were my dad and that I wouldn’t be the person I am today without you in my life. Till we meet again.....I love you dad!

I’ll miss you very much. I remember from such a young age grandpa was always there for us to help out mom especially when she was going through chemo. He has made some of the hardest times so much better for Soley and I. Grandpa was one of the sweetest and selfless people I have ever known. I’ll never forget him dressing as Santa every year when we were little. I know that he is safe now and no longer suffering and in a much better place. I love you so much and you'll always be in my heart and memories. Rest In Peace angel❤️
