Obituary for Sean T. O'Neill

Sean T. O'Neill, age 62, beloved husband for 33 years to Sharon, nee Slager. Loving father of Declan, Claire, the late Mackenzie and Kelsie. Son of the late Thomas and Alice O'Neill. Dear brother to twin Thomas, Kevin (Catherine), Mike "Casey" (Karen) O'Malley, the late George Skaritka, the late Marge Kelly, the late Philomenia Glenn, the late Doreen McCarthy, and the late Nuala Tierney. Dear former brother-in-law to Marge Skaritka and Linda O'Neill. Fond brother-in-law of Charles (Deb) Slager, Tim Slager, Rebecca (Jim) Haan, Donald (Debbie) Slager and Rich (Patty) Slager. The funny, loving and adored uncle of too many nieces and nephews to name. God-father to Andrew Philbrick and Stacy Stanton.

Sean met Sharon while he was delivering mail for the US Postal Service and Sharon's office was on his route. After leaving the Post Office, Sean began a wonderful career as a salesman in the paper industry. He worked for great companies like Butler Paper, Unisource and for the past twenty plus years--Lindenmeyr Munroe. Sean LOVED people and he loved to make people laugh. He was a great salesman and was adored by his customers and his co-workers Dave and Matt. In 2013, Sean and Sharon founded Doughs Guys Bakery now located in Palos Heights.

Diagnosed in November 2017 with the rare form of Ocular Melanoma cancer, Sean fought hard the past five plus years to live his life to the fullest and to accept what he couldn't change. He loved his family to the utmost, but he also loved music and sports--mainly the Sox, Bears, Hawks and Bulls--and he loved a good round of golf. He also loved a good laugh--especially with friends Brian and Jim on the golf course and talking about the Sox with Frank, Pete and "neighbor" Dave. His best times were with lifelong friends, Rich, John and Jeff. Family and friends meant everything to him!
