Roger J. Vander Woude, age 97, WWII U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 50 years to the late Josephine, nee Beukinga (1996). Loving father of David (Barbara) Vander Woude, late Judith (John) Mooi, late Cynthia (late Peter) Ouwenga, Robert (Kathleen) Vander Woude, Lori (Paul) Schaap and the late Lynette Bulten. Cherished grandfather of Julie (John) Worden, Andrew (Jamie) Vander Woude, Kristie (Jim) Turner, Jonathan (Jenn) Vander Woude, Phillip (Nikki) Vander Woude; Jennifer (Mike) Love, Heather (Brian) Nowak, Stephanie (Jim) Paul, Allison (Tim) Sternau, Tyler Mooi, Michael Mooi, Marquis Mooi; Daniel (Sarah) Ouwenga, Kevin Ouwenga, Kate Ouwenga, Rebecca (Keith) Chester; Courtney Vander Woude, Craig Vander Woude, Kim (Kasey) McCabe, Robbie Vander Woude; Benjamin Schaap, Hannah (Colin) Middel, Matthew Schaap, Jonathan (Nadine) Schaap; Jodilyn Bulten and Caleb Bulten. Dearest great-grandfather of 23. Preceded in death by his brothers Dan and Ken and his sisters Betty Doornbos and Lois Swearinga. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Roger was a meat cutter for 42 years---many of them at Jewel Food Stores. He enjoyed photography and after retirement, woodworking as well. Roger was Treasurer of Mt. Greenwood Reformed Church for 30 years. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12 Noon at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
