Robert Peter Wagner, age 78, U.S. Armed Forces Veteran passed away on December 7, 2020 at home. Loving Single-father of Michelle (Vytautas) Wagner-Lapenas. Cherished grandfather of Raymond, Samuel and James. Dearest brother of Gertrude (Godmother) Radistits, Helen (Arthur) Kuh, sister-in-law Anneliese Wagner, Mildred Willis, Barbra (Alan) Hess, Susan (Joseph) Ulidriks, Mary (George) Purpura. Godfather of Janet and Linda. Fond cousin. Dear uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents Peter and Eva (nee Fritz) Wagner, siblings John, Edward, Louise Pitluck and Caroline Hecker, brother- in- laws Richard Willis, Andrew Pitluck, Raymond Hecker, Emil Radstits, sister -in- laws Florence, Clara, Former spouse Patricia (nee Stark) Wagner.

Robert was born at home on 47th street in Chicago on September 4, 1942. He was drafted in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War were he was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky and Homestead Air Force Base, Miami-Dade, Florida. He was an empowering single-father who empathized the importance of resilience. Robert was a loving and dedicated grandfather, every morning he would show up to help get the kids ready for kindergarten. He taught them to tie their shoes, put on their coats, shoulder their backpacks and hold hands as they marched to school. Robert aired on the side of forgiveness, empathy, while holding resolute to his convictions. A few of his favorite pastimes were solving newspaper crossword puzzles, watching foreign films, reading and leaves behind a vast record album collection.
