Obituary for Robert A. "Bob" Glockler

Friday, July 15, 2022, our hearts shattered. Our dearest husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle was carried gently into Jesus's arms at the age of 84. Robert "Bob" Glockler, beloved husband for 61 years to Alice Glockler. Loving father of Sue (Dan) Stevens, Rob ( Rita) Glockler, Ronn (Chris) Glockler, Jenny Glockler and the late Jeanie Glockler. A devoted grandfather to Dan Jr. Stevens, Cassandra (Will) Jarosz, Ronnie Jr. Glockler, Luke Glockler, Lauren Stevens, and Adam Glockler. A cherished great grandfather to Jackson Stevens. Dear brother of Betty (late John) Penkava, Joanne (late Ted) Willingham and the late Chris (Judy) Glockler and Michael (Linda) Glockler. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bob married his very best friend and love of his life, Alice Clark, on July 31, 1961. From there Bob and Alice built a life they loved. They were blessed with a large and loving family. They were able to watch 5 children and 7 grandchildren from infants to flourishing young men and women. He was so proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. They were a treasure he proudly shared and spoke of to anyone who would listen. He devoted his life completely to his wife, children and grandchildren. You could always find him at family get togethers or heading to one of his grandchildren’s sporting events with a big smile on his face.

Bob was full of knowledge. Whenever you needed an answer to a question, you knew you could always call "dad" or "gramps", you may have had to wait a few extra seconds so he could figure out this "darn phone" or may have had to talk a little louder so he could hear you over his news stations he always loved to watch. But without a doubt you knew you could always count on him.

Bob was also a proud lather for 65 years in the Carpenters Union Local #10.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 4-8p.m. with a Service at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & one block west of Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment private.
