Looking back some 30 years later, I realize how gentle and humble Mr. Assink was. Even the way he would discipline me and other in the library was meant with a redemptive spirit in mind. I didn't appreciate him as a 16 year old kid, but when I look back, truly admire the man he was and the man I had the privilege of knowing. My condolences to Mrs. Assink (my kindergarten teacher) and the family.

I remember being in. Mr.Assink’s class at Christian High. I remember being intimidated initially until I realized what a sense of humor he had. My condolences to Linda and all the family.
