Michael L. Hagen, age 70, of Orland Park, IL, beloved husband for 43 years to Joan, nee Dressler. Loving father of Kathleen (Rev. Matt) Gunia, Elizabeth (Dan) Hampton, and the late James Michael Hagen. Cherished grandfather of Joseph, Colette, Vivian, and Otto Gunia; Carter and Quinn Hampton. Devoted son of Corinne and the late LeRoy Hagen. Dear brother of Tom (Diane) Hagen and Tim (Karen) Hagen. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mike spent his entire career working as an architect for international design firms based in Chicago. A career of over 45 years included engagements with Skidmore Owings and Merrill, A. Epstein & Sons, tvsdesign and Gensler involving projects across the globe. Notable buildings and projects include: Sears (Willis) Tower, The Menninger Foundation in Wisconsin, Citi Corp Plaza in Los Angeles, Arlington International Racecourse, the McCormick Place Campus in Chicago including the South Hall, Hyatt Hotel(s), Corporate Office Center and the Marriott Hotel.

Mike loved his family, especially his grandkids and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. He loved fly fishing, canoeing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed reading, listening to classical music and was a fantastic cook. He loved Chicago and its rich history of architecture and design. He always had a smile on his face, a bounce in his step, and a positive attitude. He created a perpetual calming presence in our lives and was the foundation of our family.
