I am a proud Roseland Christian School Alum ('82) and my sister came out in 1985. The impact Mr. Hooker RCS had on our lives is priceless. Looking back and realizing that our PRINCIPAL was also our math teacher has special significance for those of us in education. He walked the walk and helped make RCS an actual community, whether through chili suppers, lunches served by the "Willing Workers" and music programs. How many elementary schools have alumni that still maintain strong bonds with their classmates? The friendships and fellowships formed at RCS continue to bless my life daily. Rest in heaven, Mr. Hooker!

Kathy and I join with you in this time of grief and sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers go out for each of you - may our Lord and Savior bring you comfort and peace in the knowledge that this is but a passing into the eternal life in Christ's presence that we are promised. That we can celebrate and look forward to the time when we meet again. We are very sorry that we can't be there with you, my dear sister and family, but know y'all are loved.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. hooker, “The Principal”. I am a proud Alumnae of the Roseland Christian School class of 1982. I often reflect on his leadership as I am the current Principal of George M Pullman Elementary school, in the neighboring Pullman community. As children, we thought he was “mean” but as adults we clearly understand he was focused, and about the business of educating children. He carried a tremendous responsibility. Leadership of any school is a ministry and he led and did his best to set up an optimal environment for our Christian Education. He was also a great math teacher. The video captures his love for family. He has left a legacy of love for all of you. - Romeldia Hearn Salter

Please extend my condolences to the Hooker Family.
I graduated from Roseland Christian School in 1985. Mr. Hooker was our principal, our math teacher and our bus driver. In each of these roles, it was evident that the needs of the children/students were his top priority. He was fair, firm and faithful in his interactions with us. I will forever be grateful for the role he played in my life and the lives of so many others. Because of his vision for RCS, we learned about the Lord and His unconditional love for us; we became a strong family and made lots of beautiful memories together over the years.

Mr. Hooker, thank you for all that you did for us. It is greatly appreciated.  You have now earned your wings. So, enjoy your rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Sincerely,
Karyn Mallett-Davis
