Lois M. Boonstra, nee Eggebeen, age 88, beloved wife of the late Andrew Boonstra, Jr.(2008). Loving mother of Karen (Kurt) Smolenski and Kathryn (Carl) DeVries. Cherished grandmother of Andrew, Sarah, Emily, Nicholas Smolenski; and Jack, Noah, and Sophie DeVries. Dear sister of Mark (Anne) Eggebeen and Rachel (Paul) Vanden Bout.

Lois Marie was born in Kohler, WI to Anton and Elizabeth Eggebeen. She graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where she studied to be a teacher. She taught in Chicago where she met her husband Andrew and they started their family.

They moved to Palos Heights and Lois began working at Trinity Christian College. She started part time in the library and was the assistant to multiple presidents.

Lois enjoyed painting, sewing and knitting, baking and cooking, and gathering with friends and family. She loved going to Bible study and being involved at her church. Lois was an avid reader and was always learning something new. Most recently during the pandemic she completed an online course at Trinity Christian College.

Lois loved being a grandma more than anything and had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
