Obituary for Kevin Madden

Kevin Madden, age 63, beloved husband of Janet, nee Sutherland. Devoted son of the late John and Catherine Madden. Loving brother of John (Laura) Madden and sister Eileen (John) Jurevis. Uncle of Tom Madden (Melissa), Jennifer Madden Hundekar (Prakash), Jill Musil (Ryan), John Jurevis, Kaitlyn Madden, Colleen (Steven) Lamuscan, Ella, and Maya Sutherland. Great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Mark Sutherland (Elena). He is also survived by an uncle and cousins in Ireland and London. In addition, Kevin leaves behind his beloved dog Rhett.

Growing up, Kevin was an altar boy at St. Justin Church. He graduated from Bogan High School in 1977. Kevin spent his career years as a dedicated registered nurse for the acute ill throughout the Southside of Chicago including Mercy Hospital. Utilizing his compassion for others, he joined his wife and traveled to DC lobbying for research money for The Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Kevin and his wife Janet, recently wrote a book about their dog Rhett “Rhett a Kind Little Corgi A Corgi Tail". Kevin is an Amazon Best Seller Author. He is loved by a large group of friends and is an avid poker player. He doesn’t just leave behind friends and family but many of the friends and patients he impacted during his work, at church or who needed help in his community. Kevin wouldn’t think twice about stopping and helping anyone or picking up the phone and checking on a friend.

Visitation Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5-8 PM at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st St., Orland Park, IL on Friday June 3, 2022 for a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Committal Service will be held following the Funeral Mass at the Columbarium at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 393 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL at 3:30 p.m.
