Obituary for Kenneth E. "Ken" Krout

Kenneth E. "Ken" Krout, age 80, beloved husband for 55 years to Harilyn, nee Ray. Loving father of Lance (Chris) Krout and the late Brian Krout. Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Ryan and Alana Krout. Dear brother of Doris McKinzie, Lloyd Krout, Carol (Don) McCrory and the late Baby Boy Krout, Charles (Joyce) Krout, Claude Krout and Judith Ann Krout. Dear brother-in-law of Harlan (Alice) Ray. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Ken retired from Harris Bank after 37 years of service. His bonds with his church friends and families were deeply meaningful to him. He worked in AWANA and taught Sunday School for several years. He loved to spend time studying God's Word. He and Harilyn were involved in teaching a home Bible study group which spanned almost 30 years. Ken enjoyed gardening and working in his back yard, which was his haven. He spent many hours caring for his flowers and plants, as well as his bird houses and feeders. Watching the wrens, humming birds and finches was a deep pleasure to all who enjoyed his back yard with him. A favorite activity was taking trips to Lake Michigan, and just delighting in the ever-changing beauty of God's amazing Creation. Ken loved God; he loved Jesus, his Savior; he loved God's precious Word; he loved his family and his friends; and he loved to tell others how they could come to Christ to receive His free gift of salvation.
