I would usually only talk to Ken as I was on the scale weighing in. 10 out of 10 times I drove off the scale laughing or grinning ear to ear. He had a great sense of humor! We would also have brief conversations about music, funny videos and TV Shows. Man he loved him some Kenny Powers! His presence will be missed at work. My condolences to your family.

Kenny was one of those rare people who could always make you smile. No matter what kind of day it was, when you saw Kenny you smiled, whether he sent you a random email with some random contents or seeing him ride his bike through the yard at work, he put a smile on your face. I keep thinking of the quote from Shawshank Redemption that Red says "I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend." Kenny will be missed and he was deeply loved.

I have worked with Ken for 30 years and i will miss his sense of humor. Ken took great joy in pulling pranks on myself and Frazer Gulli. On several occasions , Ken would alter emails i would send him requesting he do something or provide information to me. He would alter the email and send it to Frazer but making it look like it came from me with ridiculous requests (some of which cannot be shared). Frazer would walk to my office with a dumbfounded look on his face wondering why i would send this to him. I would show Frazer what I actually sent Ken and we would laugh because he got us once again. He was definitely one of a kind. He will be missed greatly.

I had the wonderful privilege of working with Ken (KB) for a year. He was one of the funniest people I have met here at
Homewood Disposal. I will always miss him and think of him but I know he is resting and I will see him again. My prayers go out to his family and thank you for sharing him. John 5:28, Rev 21:3,4

Ken and I worked together at Homewood Disposal for over 20 years. Not always in connected jobs, but over half the time it was. He could always put a smile on my face, and had a big heart. My favorite story: I had just come back to work after taking a month off after my daughter had passed away. He sent me an email marked "URGENT" that some suspicious character had just left a package by the front door, and I should go check to make sure it wasn't a bomb or something. (LOL I knew better) So I go check and it was a container of ice cream for me and a sweet note of condolences. Definitely goofy, but he made me smile, and it meant so much. Praying for his family, knowing that he will be missed by so many.
