I'm so very sad to hear about John's death, what a lovely man. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

He was kind to me, as a Brit working as a waitress at Santucci's in the 1970's and wouldn't allow any hassle from the bar flies - Tom, Gene and the others.

John was knowledgeable and easy to talk to with a great sense of humour and, after each shift, would mix a different American drink (which I chose based solely on the colour of the bottle). What a revelation for someone from the land of warm pubs ... I've not had a decent one since....

Gene was very fond of John, admired his character and qualities, and remembered him throughout his life, . We've always missed him and Tom, Santucci's and the Santucci family, and I'm sadly relieved that Gene has passed away shortly before John, and hasn't had to hear the sad news. My younger memories take me back to Mann family reunions and then later visiting with Bud and Bev with my gramma (Gemma Doll) and Aunt Goldie. Bud was always kind and easy to talk to. Remembering his laugh makes me smile. Sending prayers and hugs. Sandi (Lindstrom) and Roger Jacobson
