John N. Brooks, age 80, beloved husband for 52 years to the late Carol, nee Vander Meeden. Loving father of Beth A. Brooks (Paul Skiem), Bill Brooks and Brian (Lisa) Brooks. Cherished grandfather of Elisa and Samantha. Much loved father-in-law of Kathy. Devoted son of the late Nicholas and Mabel (nee Wenzloff) Brooks. Dear brother of Jacqueline Cesna. Dearest uncle of Lenny and Sandy.

John was very active in Barnabas Men's Bible Study and Bible Study Fellowship. He also enjoyed volunteering his time helping Trinity Christian College with their construction projects.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding COVID-19 and for the safety of the family and community, a private family service and burial will be held. A Memorial Service to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date.

John has been a brother in Christ and a good friend of mine for the past twelve years or so. We met over oatmeal and blueberries many times, it was never about the food. I will miss his gentle ways and faithful incite but know he is exactly where he believed he would be once his struggle was complete. Until we see you again John, you will be missed.

Brother JD will be missed! He was and still is a great influence in my life. He always had a positive word to share, he loved the Barnabas ministry and BSF . We would discuss Homiletic's on Saturday mornings and I would let him know that I have trouble getting all the content where it should be and he would tell me it gets easier the more you stay at it, hang is there. JD you have a loving spirit and it shows in your boys Brian and Bill, I am blessed to have know you and your sons. BSF has a saying when you miss, you are missed! Brother John you certainly will be be missed. Big Dougie Hug!

I know JD had a special place in my (and my family's) heart, and I know we had a special place in his heart. He will be missed. And if I could speak to him right now, I would tell him to say "hi" to Carol for us, and "enjoy heaven!!"

I loved how JD always pushed us guys to seize moments, think big, and have fun! Always a big smile and firm handshake that meant he really cared. A true role model of what good character is and means. Best line ever: "Are you a man or a mouse!" - You had to be there for that one!!

JD was a big man with a big heart and always a smile. Will miss him at BSF.
