Eugene S. "Gene" Pesek, age 95, WWII US Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 61 years to the late Dolores "Duckie" nee Cook. Loving father of Debra (late David) Wallace, Sandra (Rick) Vail, and Pamela (Don) Tietz. Cherished grandfather of Jeffrey (Heather) Wallace, Kristin Wallace, Lindsey (David Krueger) Wallace; Jason (Jenny) Fasel, Allyson (Paul) Watkins; Brad (Kathleen) Tietz, Ryan (Allison) Tietz, and Connor Tietz. Dearest great-grandfather of Noah, Alyssa, Ella, Austin, Brynn, and Claire. Fond brother-in-law of the late Lorraine (late Mel) Klotz. Dear uncle of Pattie Andrews and the late Gary Klotz. Dog dad of Rocky.

Gene is a retired photographer from the Chicago Sun-Times with over 40 years of service. He loved his job and was honored to have the opportunity to photograph multiple presidents including Nixon, Eisenhower, and Reagan, as well as many celebrities including the Beatles. He also taught photography for many years at Columbia University.

Visitation Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
