Edward M. Allaway, age 75, U.S. Army Veteran. Beloved husband for 55 years to Patricia, nee Steadman. Loving father of Michael (Lynn) Allaway, Matthew (Kelli) Allaway, Maureen (Sean) Casey and Katie Allaway. Cherished grandfather of Aidan, Sophie, August and Lucy; Eamon, Eoin, Nora and Finn. Devoted son of the late Robert and Gertrude Allaway. Dear brother of Elizabeth (Jack) Weizeorick, William (Denise) Allaway, Pat (Rich) Knepper, Ray (Ruth) Allaway, John (Carol) Allaway, Jerry (Linda) Allaway, and the late Daniel Allaway, Robert Allaway, and James (late Bernice) Allaway.
Ed was in the meat business for over 50 years starting out as a meat cutter, then broker and finally sales. He was a proud gourmet home chef. Ed loved his wife, children and grandchildren, attending as many sporting events as possible. Ed will always be remembered for his smile and his warm welcoming charm.
Visitation Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Stephen Deacon & Martyr Church, 17500 S. 84th Ave., Tinley Park, IL from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m.
Interment with Military Honors will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
