Obituary for Dennis Durak

Dennis Durak, age 71, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Beloved husband for 41 years to Pamela (Shidla). Loving father of Timothy (Joele) Durak, Lora Durak and Michelle (Jason) Jones. Cherished grandfather of Danielle, Taylor, Joseph, Maya and Cole. Devoted son of Estelle and the late Theodore Durak. Dear brother of Sharon Bannan and Monica (Scott) Holas. Dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Sunday, August 18, 2019, 2-7 p.m. Funeral Monday, August 19, 2019, 8:30 a.m. from Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL to St. Michael Church, 14327 Highland Ave., Orland Park, IL. Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL from 12:00 Noon until 12:30 p.m. Luncheon and fellowship to follow at Silver Dollar Restaurant, 422 Mississippi Ave., Elwood, IL at 1:00 p.m.

I had Coach Durak for 2 years of little league in the OYA and I remember those days fondly, in large part due to his patience and counsel for us players. My condolences to Tim and the rest of the family.

Dennis was a good man he was in my unit in Vietnam. I got to know Dennis at the maney reunions we had back in the day. He was a friend to all. Until we meet again RIP Brother slow hand salute.
