Obituary for David "Jadz" Jadzak

David (Jadz) Jadzak
4/26/63-10/10/20

It is with shock and immense sadness that we announce the passing of David Paul Jadzak, the heart and soul of our family. He will be remembered for his great wit, and corny jokes, kindness, generosity, love of family and friends, athleticism and Polish pride, but mostly for his optimism and heart of gold. Even when he was not feeling the best, Dave always looked out for others, whether he knew them or not, and was determined to share a smile, a kind remark, and a snack bag. Dave leaves behind so many that will miss him: mother, Kathy; siblings, Mark (Nancy), Sue (Michael), Dori, Pam, & Steve (Jill); so many nephews and nieces who will never look at a lottery ticket again without thinking of him: Tracy, Andrea, Chris, Rob, Tyler, Mira, Rory, Jacob, Alyssa, Jillian, Zachary, Madison, Trey and Jordan; along with great nephews and nieces: Erin, Jeremy, Emma, Olivia & Bobby who knew him as Great Uncle Dave, (G.U.D.), a most fitting acronym. Dave absolutely loved being a father to Amanda and Isaiah and was a very proud grandpa to Aiden, Damon, Orion, Apollo, Osiris, Orlain, Athena, Ella and Nell. Dave was an alumnus of St Gerard Majella, Hillcrest High School & Cornell College. Both the number of childhood friends who remained in touch with Dave through adulthood and all the new friends Dave met throughout his life are true testaments to how genuine and amazing he was. Dave could have a conversation with anyone about any subject. He truly will be missed by so many. Over the years Dave could be found having fun enjoying both real and fantasy sports, playing cards, bartending, bingo, couponing, telling old jokes, making spicy chili or omelets, gambling, and coaching. He would never let you leave without a snack and pop for the ride home. Dave was often found on a softball field in his younger days and a golf course in his later years. Dave was good at so many things, but what he was really great at was being kind to others and never giving up hope for a better future. Perhaps this had to do with his strong faith, or perhaps he was a ‘beer glass half full’ person by nature; either way, he was always hopeful and knew how to find the good in us all. Our family would love to see all his great friends and hear the fun and heartwarming Jadz stories so we are postponing his Celebration of Life until we can gather safely.

A Celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 with a Visitation from 1-4 p.m. and a Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL.
