Obituary for Bruce D. Shellstrom

Bruce David Shellstrom passed away peacefully on March 26, 2023. He was born on September 13, 1928 in Chicago to the late Leonard and Jean (Duncan) Shellstrom. He is survived by his dear sister Joan (George) Rumel and brother-in-law Lawrence H. Miller, his three children Susan (James) Groah, Scott (Colette Carlson) and Stacy (Douglas) Carbol, grandchildren Stacy (Scott) Laubhan, Sarah (Steven) Dowd, Tyler (Stacey) Carbol, Cody (Caleb) Benoit, Kindsey and Camry Carbol, great-grandchildren Jesse and Christian Bruce Chavez, Victoria, Ryan and Luke Dowd, Evelyn, Gideon and Atlas Carbol, Winston Benoit, his “adopted” Olsby family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as friends old and new. He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly Olsby (2005-2022) and his late wife Leatrice Ann (Miller) (1951-2002), siblings Stanley, Corabelle and Richard Shellstrom.

Bruce loved music, art and creation. A patriot, he enlisted in the Marines at 17 years old during World War II. He encountered Christ while at summer camp singing "This Is My Father's World" on a hilltop. It was his faith that sustained him through to eternity.

As per Bruce's wishes, a private service will be held in his beloved Florida.
