Basil H. Giaretta, age 89, U.S. Army Veteran, beloved husband of Janet, nee Ziegler. Loving father of Debbie (Dennis) Kostolansky, Scott (Julie) Giaretta, Jean (Joe) Monocchio, Dave (late Julia) Giaretta and Vicky (Chuck) Harris. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Kari), Sean (Maggie) and Kristin Kostolansky; Brian (Amy) Giaretta and Nicole (Brad) Kovach; Anthony and Dominick Monocchio; Charlie, Danny and Kayla Harris. Dearest great-grandfather of 13. Dear brother of Maryanne (Jerry) Turrise. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Basil was a ramp supervisor at TWA Airlines for 35 years and retired in 1989. He was an aviation enthusiast, enjoyed working on cars and going to antique car shows.
Visitation Friday, February 3, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment private.
