Zygmunt Lachecki, age 90, born in Poland on August 22, 1926. Beloved husband for 61 years to the late Sheila Patricia Lachecki, nee O’Connor. Loving father of Christine (the late Randy) Petersen, John (Audrey) Lachecki, and the late Helena Lachecki-Paige (Dean). Cherished grandfather of Celina (Edward Mueller) Petersen Mueller and Jillian (fiancé Jake Scott) Petersen; Adam (Krystal), Melanie, and Marshall Lachecki. Dearest great-grandfather of Brantley and Sawyer Lachecki.

Zygmunt served in the Polish Army during WWII under British command at which time he received the Cross of Monte Cassino, Army Medal, and Italy Star. He retired as a foreman electrician at U.S. Steel in 1973 after 32 years of service. In his retirement, Zygmunt enjoyed golfing, fishing, tending his beautiful gardens, and spending time with family and friends.
