Condolence: Jan, was a wonderful neighbor. I was attached to her since the beginning of Club Marco. I came and went quite often and she always looked out for my condo. She was a great friend and always willing to help. She will be missed. I use to look so forward of to seeing her sitting on the front porch. Earl, you were so good to her. She will be missed by many people.

Condolence: It saddens me to read the news of Jan’s passing in the Marco Review this morning. My father, John Stein gave Jim’s eulogy years ago. We ran the race in Jim’s memory for cancer on Marco Beach. Jan was the one to call me to let me know when my dad had passed. I have enjoyed waving back to you between the South Seas towers before you moved. I have enjoyed dinner in your home at Club Marco. My sister Vicki and I have borrowed numerous books from you whenever we were on island. So many fond memories. My husband and I purchased a condo on Marco in August 2016. I made several attempts to contact you since then without success. We even showed up at your door one day last fall and no one was there. So sorry we never had the chance to reconnect. Rest In Peace and prayers for your family at this difficult time.

Somehow this promising future was abruptly ended. Hopefully, cherished memories together will help you to rebuilt your life. Please stay in touch.

Condolence: Dear Ed and Family:

Rich shared the sad news of Janet’s passing and I send my heartfelt condolences on your loss. Our lives intersected 68 years ago in the true Camelot of our childhood in Brainerd and Fort Dearborn. So many memories of birthday parties, boy-girl parties, trips to study Chicago and taking the train to Springfield. Your stately Father and your elegant Mother and the magical years we all enjoyed in safety and happiness. And I recall that magnificent reunion at Palos CC in 1985 when we all shared our midlife stories and talked of days gone by. God Bless Janet and May she rest in eternal peace. Mick

Condolence From: Karen and John Vander Wagen III
Condolence: It is with broken hearts that John and I address the loss of our lifelong friend and confidant. Janet, John and I had a wonderful relationship with Janet spanning our entire lives. At church, in schools, and throughout our many relationships we always made time for each other to share our experiences. We were family and for me Jan was the sister I never had. John and I will miss her greatly. We thank God that Earl and Janet enjoyed time together as it brought them great joy, albeit too brief. We pray that God’s grace will provide the mercies to Earl, Ed and Lois and their extended families as they mourn this tragic loss. God bless you Janet.
