Obituary for Iva Lee Taylor (Vermillion)

Iva Lee Taylor, nee Vermillion, of Orland Park, Illinois, and formerly of Morgan Park/Beverly in Chicago, Illinois, died on August 7, 2017 in the presence and comfort of her husband, Jerome F. Taylor. "Lee" was born on August 25, 1920 to the late Cecile Elva Porter and Lewis Albert Vermillion. Devoted wife of almost 73 years to Jerome F. Taylor. Loving mother to Stephen W. Taylor (Ellen) and Jeffery D. Taylor (Nancy). Proud grandmother of Christopher W. Taylor, Katherine E. Taylor Meister (David), Emily A. Brown (Matthew), and Dr. Lindsay Taylor, and great-grandmother to Bennett, Ruby, and Elizabeth "Ellie." Dear sister to the late Udell, Lewis Porter, Harvey and Dean and cherished aunt and friend to many. Lee was raised in Shenandoah, Iowa, graduated as her high school Valedictorian and subsequently received her degree from the University of Northern Iowa. During and after World War II, she taught school in Pella, Iowa, and Southern California.

Visitation Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem), Orland Park, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Oak Lawn, IL.
