Obituary for Henry "Hank" Kamp

Henry "Hank" Kamp, age 84, died on March 3, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Carol Kamp, née Schemper, loving father of Cindy Kamp, married to John Kerlin, Bob Kamp, married to Jill Helder Kamp, and David Kamp. Devoted Grandpa to Delaney, Quinn, Isabella, and Emarson Kamp, and Philip and Brendan Kerlin.

He was the son of William Kamp and Johanna de Roos Kamp. Brother to Jeannette Kwasteniet Hop and Peter Kamp, and brother-in-law to Verbena Kamp and Judy Kamp, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Everett Kamp, and sisters Jo Verbeek and Betty Postma, and brothers-in-law Mitch Kwasteniet, Hans Verbeek, and Ken Postma.

Hank worked for many years as a painter and decorator on the south side of Chicago and was a veteran of the US Army. He had a wide circle of friends, and was a member of the Christian Reformed Church. He loved classical music, taking care of his yard, sitting on his front porch, and coffee with his buddies. A life-long Cub fan, he lived to see them win the World Series in 2016.

Visitation Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 3-8 p.m. Memorial Service Thursday, March 9, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL.
