Obituary for Ruby V. Trela (Andersen)

Ruby Trela (June 15, 1926—March 1, 2017) Only child of Anna and Maurice Andersen, was born in Chicago. She worked in her mother’s catering business and, during WWII, as a “Rosie the Riveter”. In May 1946 she married her beloved husband Anthony, known as “Tony” and “A.J.” They were together over 60 years before A.J.’s death in 2007. Together they raised three sons: John (Jennifer, nee Bryant), Robert (Cozette, nee Knopp) and D. J. (David Bailey). They have four grandchildren, Dana (Randy) Bogathy, Beth (Chuck) Miller, Monica (Andy) Randle, and Ryan (Meganne) Trela; and seven great-grandchildren, Madeline and Owen Bogathy, Jack and Brenna Miller, Logan and Malia Randle, and Bennett Trela.

Ruby and A.J. founded Trela Roofing Company in 1952, family owned and operated for three generations. Ruby loved her husband, family, friends, and her God. A strong spirited woman, she was the glue that held the family together.

Visitation Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Ev. Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 7800 W. McCarthy Road, Palos Heights, IL 60463 from 10:00 a.m.. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Interment private.
