Obituary for Emilie F. "Millie" Plankis (Bender)

Emilie F. "Millie" Plankis (Bender)
Emilie Freida "Millie" Plankis, nee Bender, age 99, formerly of Riverdale, IL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Michael J. Plankis, Sr. (2001). Loving mother of Betty J. (Bill) Hamilton, Michael Jr. (Peggy), Millie (Scott) Scott, and Rich (Nancy). Cherished grandmother of Michael, Niki, Dan, and Dave Hamilton; Amy Plankis and Kathy; Aaron, Tabitha, Brett, Laura and Jacob Plankis; Heidi and Jeff Scott. Dearest great-grandmother of Cadence. Preceded in death by her sisters Helen and Elizabeth "Liz" and her brother George. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews, many of which kept in touch with her often and kept her busy on the phone or taking her out on day outings here and there.

She will be missed by many of her friends at the Riverdale Senior Center. Having lived a good, long life, Emilie loved the Lord and was ready to see her mother again. Emilie was a homemaker and loved to crochet. Within the last year, she would make lap robes, caps and baby blankets, and donate them to senior centers for residents and hospitals for newborns. 2,4,6, 8 You wonder what that is? II Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 6 through 8. Look it up and know that Emilie is in a better place!
