Obituary for Robert J. "Bob" Bonnema

Robert J. "Bob"  Bonnema
Robert J. "Bob" Bonnema, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, June 28, 2015. Beloved husband of 69 years to the late Marion V. Bonnema, nee Van Dyk. Loving father of Kathi (the late Dennis) Barker and the late Russell (Linda) Bonnema. Cherished grandfather of Brian (Alicia) Bonnema, Jeffrey (Lisa) Bonnema, Nicole Barker, Erin (Tim) Hillegonds, Kaitlin (Mark) Sidler, and Alexis Bonnema. Dearest great-grandfather of eight. Bob was a US Army Veteran and held by the German Army as a Prisoner of War during WWII. He was liberated Easter Sunday morning by General Patton's tanks. Visitation Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Private burial with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 preferred.
