Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Orland Park, IL

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home & Crematory is proud to offer the families of Orland Park, IL the use of its private onsite crematorium. In fact, it is the only funeral home in Orland Park, IL with this feature. This ensures that those choosing cremation for dealing with the physical remains of a loved one will get truly personal and prompt care. The deceased is never handed over to strangers working in some distant crematory. We only cremate one body at a time, so families are certain to receive the correct ashes and in a timely fashion.

At our funeral home, we provide families with the option of a complete cremation service. This includes identical visitation and funeral services as would be present prior to a traditional burial, except the your loved one will be placed in a rental or cremation casket. After commemorative ceremonies are concluded, your deceased will be cremated in the crematorium located on our premises. Following the cremation process, you may keep the ashes inurned in your home, place them in a columbarium niche, inter them in a cemetery plot or scatter the cremains within legal guidelines, among many other options.

In addition, we also offer direct cremation services to the families of our community. As is strongly recommended by grief experts, direct cremations are often followed up with a memorial gathering in honor of the deceased. The casketed remains are not there, as would be the case with a funeral service. Instead, the urn is typically displayed. For those choosing direct cremation, we urge them to schedule a brief private family viewing prior to the process. This helps the family to digest the fact that their loved one has passed.

We also make arrangements for burial services. Many families choose to have a traditional visitation and funeral service before their deceased is interred in a cemetery. We have a wide array of beautiful caskets for you to select from, coming in many colors, designs and materials. We will further assist you as you seek a burial vault, which is frequently required by cemeteries to prevent the dirt from settling, thereby preserving the beauty of their grounds and making maintenance much easier.
